Police nab suspects in Allisonville gas station robbery
Fishers Police say they have four suspects in custody and are looking for a fifth in the armed robbery of the Shell gas station at 96th and Allisonville Road late Monday night.
Fishers Police were conducting surveillance of the station around 11:30 p.m. when they saw three masked men go inside. One of the suspects was armed with a long gun. The officers then saw the suspects run from the station and get in a white GMC Jimmy SUV.
Officers followed the SUV south into Marion County to the 8700 block of Doral West Drive in the Masters Apartments. The female driver and female passenger stayed in the SUV while the three males ran away.
Police arrested the two women without incident. One of the male suspects, 23-year-old Douglas D. Dennis of Indianapolis, was apprehended by an IMPD K-9. The second male, a juvenile, was apprehended a short time later during a search of the area.
Officers from multiple agencies searched the area for nearly three hours. The third male remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
The two females, later identified as Mercedes M. Hamilton and Janea L. Waller, both 19, Dennis the juvenile were transported to the Fishers Police Department, where they were questioned, then booked into the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville.
Weger said that the area has seen a number of gas station robberies in the past several weeks, including the same Shell station that was hit recently by suspects fitting a description "very similar" to those men involved in Monday night's robbery.
Weger said detectives will work to determine if the suspects are connected to any of the previous robberies.
