Police investigate shooting during robbery at bus stop
Police have detained two men in relation to a shooting during a robbery on the near northwest side of Indianapolis.
The shooting occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the area of W. 26th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Street. An officer heard the gunshot while conducting a traffic stop a couple blocks away.
The officer found a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He told the officer two men approached him and demanded his backpack. One of the suspects shot him during the robbery and the men fled the scene.
The victim was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in good condition.
Two suspects were taken into custody as persons of interest in the case.
