Police investigate east Indianapolis fatal shooting
Police are investigating the shooting death of a person on the east side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened around 5 p.m. Thursday in the 2200 block of East 10th Street. One victim is confirmed deceased.
Police say the victim is a male believed to be in his 20s, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
The shooting scene is near the John H. Boner Community Center on East 10th Street. No suspect description has been released, but police are searching for at least one person last seen running south in an alley between Jefferson and Beville avenues.
Police say they are having a hard time investigating the scene due to the heavy snow.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
The victim's identity has not yet been released. The shooting is the third homicide in Indianapolis in 2014.
