A Metro Police K9 captured a wanted man early Tuesday after he fled from a traffic stop in Mooresville.

A Morgan County deputy stopped the man just before 1:00 a.m. in Mooresville.  He was wanted on multiple warrants in Marion County.

When the man, described as a white male in his mid-20s, fled the traffic stop, the deputy began a pursuit that wound around the southwest side of Indianapolis and drew in IMPD units.

Despite snowy, slick roads, police were able to maintain their pursuit of the silver suspect car.

The suspect headed back south on State Road 37 and jumped out of his car near Edgewood Ave. IMPD officers set up a perimeter around Edgewood, Banta and Concord before a K9 officer found and apprehended the man in under an hour.

He'll be booked into the Morgan County jail.
