An early morning police chase that ended in a crash in the Eagledale neighborhood turned up two stolen cars.

Metro Police responding to a report of a suspicious person on Eagledale Drive around 4:45 a.m. noticed two vehicles in the same area that began driving erratically.  The license plate of one of the vehicles matched a stolen car report.

As the vehicles sped away, police chased them through the neighborhood, which borders the Brickyard Crossing golf course to the south and 'north forty" of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to the west.

Police say they deployed stop sticks unsuccessfully before using the "pit" maneuver.  Designed to push the pitted vehicle into a skid, the vehicle rolled and wound up on its roof near Eagledale and Kalmar Drive.

The juvenile driver was taken by ambulance to Wishard Hospital with facial injuries believed to be non life-threatening.

The other vehicle was stopped and its driver taken into custody.  Police verified that both vehicles were reported stolen.

The pursuit lasted for approximately five minutes.

A third person- an adult - was also arrested at the scene.
