Police arrest home burglary, fraud suspect
Metro Police have made an arrest in a home burglary suspect.
Jesse Williams, 29, was arrested after police issued images taken from a surveillance camera. He faces charges including fraud and theft, and for receiving stolen property.
Investigators say the suspect burglarized a home on the afternoon of January 14. A black and silver Tressitu TZ99 handgun and credit cards were taken in the robbery.
The next day, a white male with short hair, a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants used one of the stolen credit cards at a Speedway gas station at 2053 S. Shelby Street. The card was also used at the Village Pantry at 1634 S. State Avenue.
Police say the man was seen driving a small red, two-door car, possibly a Chevy Cavalier or Saturn.
A detective with IMPD's Northwest District tells WTHR that after the story was circulated on social media, tips started rolling in and police made the arrest.
