A Plainfield Correctional Facility Officer was arrested last week on trafficking and dealing charges.

James Thomas faces a Class C felony charge of trafficking and a Class D felony charge of dealing in marijuana.

Thomas' arrest is the result of an internal affairs investigation. While searching Thomas' property, officers found approximately 69 grams of marijuana and 193 grams of tobacco hidden inside a bowl of frozen food.

Thomas was taken to Hendricks County Jail for processing and placed on emergency suspension without pay. Thomas was hired at the facility in March 2012.
