Plainfield burglary suspect identified, accomplice charged
Police have identified a burglary suspect who was fatally shot by officers in Plainfield Tuesday night.
Officers responding to a burglary call encountered 27-year-old Eric Poore of Lafayette in the entrance of a home on Andrews Boulevard. Police say Poore began to raise a firearm toward the officers, causing at least one of them to fatally shoot him.
Prosecutors have also charged Poore's alleged accomplice in the burglary, Justin David Pearson, who was taken into custody at the scene. Pearson is being charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of criminal confinement, both felonies. A firearm enhancement was also filed with the charges, which could add five years in prison at sentencing if Pearson is convicted.
