Baseball fans in Detroit are still laughing this morning after some birds got in the way of a game Thursday.

A pair of pigeons invaded the infield during the Detroit Tigers game.

The birds proceeded to hunt and peck their way toward home plate.

Some of the players tried to shoo the birds away, but that didn't work.

Pirates' starting pitcher, Vance Worley, rolled a baseball at the birds, but that didn't work either.

Pirates' catcher, Russell Martin tried to scare them off. You guessed it, also to no avail.

The birds were finally scared away by the grounds crew who used flare guns.
