Petition asks for Hoosier signatures to "stop the snow"
There's a petition online for just about every political cause you can imagine. Now you can add a petition to "stop the snow" to the list.
The petition reads, "HOOSIERS ARE FED UP! TOGETHER, LET'S UNITE AND STAND UP FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE IN: SWEAT, SUNBURN, & SWIMMING POOLS."
After you sign the petition, you get this message:
"Success! Thanks so much! Your voice allows us to stand up to mother nature once and for all about stopping the snow!"
Web designer Adam Whitaker is the man behind the site. He had over 500 signatures and counting, as of 11:00 pm Tuesday.
Adam seems to sum up the way we're all feeling:
"Earlier today I was just sitting around thinking about this coming snow and was feeling bummed out. More snow, more lousy road conditions, more school cancellations, more work being put on hold, more packed grocery stores, etc.," he wrote to WTHR in an email.
"Then I realized that being bummed out about the snow wasn't going to stop it. Instead, I wanted to change my attitude and have a little fun with it. I am a web designer by trade, so I was able to easily knock out the website in just a couple of hours. It gained some attention pretty quickly and I think people were having fun with it. Then it really exploded once you guys posted," he wrote.
"So basically, I just figured it would be a fun way to try to smile about the snow rather than continue to get frustrated about this relentless winter!"
