Speedway Police confirm a robbery and shooting in the Coke lot near Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  It happened early Sunday morning near 30th and Moller in lot Lot 1C.

About 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the scene of a robbery.

Investigators say a group of men robbed a person.  The victim also suffered some facial injuries during the attack.

As the group of men were fleeing the scene, a friend of the victim started chasing the suspects.

Police say that's when one of the men turned and shot the victim's friend.

The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Speedway Police PIO Lt. Travis Theobald told Eyewitness News, "We see a lot of alcohol related incidents. Some people become victims because of the atmosphere that's out there."

Police are still looking for the suspects.

Early Saturday morning, a 25-year-old Kokomo man, Max Levine, was shot and killed in the Coke lot area after an argument. A teenager was arrested in the shooting.
