Persistent below-zero temps visit Midwest again

Another winter day, another below-zero high temperature for many states in the Midwest.

The Arctic air returned to the Dakotas and Minnesota on Sunday and will filter south down to Kentucky by Monday. Temperatures will range from the teens to double-digits below zero, with wind chills again dropping into the negatives.

School cancellations are piling up, including in Chicago, where the public school district also called off class for two days earlier this month.

Patience is wearing thin during this hard winter. One Wisconsin man has abandoned walking or jogging outside because of the snow and cold, and a Michigan restaurant owner says he's not doing much business.

A National Weather Service meteorologist says the deep freeze isn't abnormal, just persistent.
