Patty Andrews of the Andrews Sisters dies
Patty Andrews of The Andrews Sisters has died. Andrews was the last surviving member of the group, famous for songs like "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," ''I'll Be with You in Apple Blossom Time" and "I Can Dream, Can't I?"
She died yesterday of natural causes at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 94. Andrews was the sister in the middle who sang lead.
The Andrews Sisters had several hits in the late 1930s and 1940s and recorded with several popular bands of the era like Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller.
Laverne Andrews died in 1967, and Maxene Andrews in 1995.
