Pacers, volunteers pack meals for Kids Against Hunger
The Pacers and George Hill teamed up with Kids Against Hunger at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Monday to pack over 50,000 meals.
Some of the meals will stay in Indianapolis and some will be shipped out to Haiti. The food is designed to not only taste good but also to be nutritious.
"This recipe has four main ingredients that are going in by these volunteers. It is packed with protein and vitamins so when they get a meal they are getting what they need and not just empty calories," said Angie Mollenkopf, Kids Against Hunger.
Kids Against Hunger is always looking for volunteers. They pack food every third Saturday of the month at their warehouse in Noblesville.
WTHR's Dave Calabro, John Stehr and Scott Swan helped pack meals Monday, along with many other volunteers.
