Pacers' George Hill helping local students get back to school
An Indiana Pacers star is using his off-season time to help local students get back to school.
George Hill's foundation George Hill's Rising Stars hosted the back-to-school event Monday afternoon at Washington Park Family Center on East 30th Street. Students took part in a number of activities and received school supplies.
Hill is a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, and he knows the importance of education.
"You always take those little things for granted and even if it's a couple of pencils or a couple of notebooks and things like that, it helps tremendously. You have a lot of kids out there going to school with completely nothing and I am just trying to put something in their hands to show them that I actually do care about them," said Hill.
George Hill's Rising Stars is a non-profit organization and in its third year of helping students do better in school.
