One person injured in Indianapolis northeast side shooting

One man is in critical condition following a shooting on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

The shooting happened around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 3500 block of North Hawthorne Lane. Police responding to the scene found an unidentified man with gunshot wounds to his thigh and genital region.

The victim, 25-year old Christopher Middlebrook, was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Police do not yet know a motive for the shooting and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
