Lafayette Police say they've arrested a man for allegedly robbing a person at gunpoint.

Just after 12:30 Monday morning, police were called out to the Walmart parking lot on State Road 26. The victim told police he wad ordered at gunpoint to drive to a nearby ATM and withdraw money.

After he got the money, the suspect, identified at Michael E. Brown of Lafayette, told the victim to return to Walmart. That's when Brown got out of the vehicle and fled the scene. The victim contacted Lafayette Police and provided a detailed description of Brown. Officers began checking open businesses along State Road 26 in an attempt to locate him.

Police later found Brown in the parking lot of Meijer. The 35-year-old Brown was arrested on charges of robbery, theft, and intimidation. He is currently in the Tippecanoe County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
