One killed, one hurt in northeast Indianapolis shooting
One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting on the northeast side of Indianapolis Monday evening.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot around 7 p.m. in the 3800 block of North Layman Avenue. When they arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into a tree in the front yard of a house. The driver appeared to have been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man was found lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his leg. He was taken to Wishard Hospital.
Police are talking to witnesses about the shooting, but have not released any information about a possible suspect at this time.
The identity of the driver of the vehicle has also not been released.
