One killed in two-car crash in northeast Indianapolis
One person is dead following an accident on the city's northeast side.
It happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection of E. 71st Street and Creekside Lane. That's just east of Binford Boulevard.
Officials say two cars going opposite directions on 71st street clipped each other.
When police arrived they found a blue Volvo flipped over in a ditch along the northbound lane of 71st street.
Officers say the driver of that car was ejected and found pinned beneath the vehicle.
Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The other car involved in the accident was a black Lincoln.
Police say that car was found spun around on the sound bound lanes of 71st street near Creekside.
The driver of that car was treated by medics and released.
Police say both cars had damage to the front drivers side.
Officers have not released the name of the victim or what caused the accident.
