One person was taken to the hospital following an early morning crash on the Indianapolis near east side.

It happened at the intersection of East New York  and North Rural Streets just before 8:00 am.

A 28-year-old woman driving a Chevy Venture van was headed east on New York when she ran the red light. The van struck a Chevy Express van southbound on Rural. The impact sent the Express van rolling four times, entrapping the driver and his passenger. It took about five minutes to stabilize the vehicle and get the people out.

A passenger in the van was injured and taken to Wishard Hospital in stable condition.
