One dead in Pendleton car vs. train crash
Madison County - A 36-year-old Madison County woman was killed Friday after her van was struck by a CSX train.
Sheriff Ron Richardson said the woman was driving east on County Road 360 West in a 1998 Dodge Caravan. She drove around the crossing arms and was unable to clear the railroad crossing before her van was struck on the passenger side.
The van came to rest on its top north of the crossing next to the train.
The woman was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified as Christine D. Foley of Pendleton.
Responding to the scene were; Pendleton Police, Fire, EMS, Madison County Sheriff's Department, Sheriff's Department Accident Investigation Team and Madison County Emergency Management.
