One dead in Indianapolis east side shooting

A man has died after being shot on the east side of Indianapolis Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened at 38th Street and Mill Crossing, near Sherman Avenue, at 4 p.m. Officers arrived to find the adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Nathan Williams.
