An Ohio man was killed when he crashed into the back of a trailer on Interstate 69 in Grant County.

Alan Stephan, 34, of Findlay, Ohio, was driving north on I-69 northeast of Marion when his Ford Escape struck the end of a box trailer that had slowed for congested traffic.

Stephan was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt, but the impact of the crash was too severe for the restraint to save his life.

The driver of the semi-trailer, 33-year-old Raad Odesho of Sterling Heights, Michigan, was not injured in the crash. He was hauling auto parts for an Ohio company from Shelbyville to Sterling Heights, Michigan.
