No injuries reported as semi fire closes I-65 Wednesday evening

BOONE COUNTY (WTHR) - A semi fire closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near Lebanon for about an hour Wednesday evening.

The truck hauling a cargo of auto parts caught fire around 8 p.m. near mile marker 142. Firefighters extinguished the fire, which completely destroyed the cab of the semi tractor. The cause of the fire is not known.

One lane of the highway was reopened around 9:15 p.m. and INDOT crews went to work repairing damaged asphalt.

There were no injuries reported in the fire.
