An Indianapolis Public Schools bus ran off the road and struck a tree Wednesday afternoon. There were students on board, but no one was injured.

It happened at Central Ave. and Fall Creek Parkway.

IPS spokesman John Althardt says the bus was transporting special needs students.

Medics checked all the passengers on the bus and found no injuries and no need for transport to the hospital.

Althardt couldn't say exactly how many passengers were on board or which school was involved.
