No injuries, $70K worth of damage in Thursday morning house fire

No injuries were reported in a vacant residence fire around 4 a.m. Thursday morning in the 300 block of South Randolph Street.

The Indianapolis Fire Department had the fire under control within 25 minutes.

Firefighters said both sides of the double residence were unoccupied and may be under construction.

The building had no working smoke detectors.

Battalion Chief Alvia Smith said damage is estimated at $70,000.
