Nicki Minaj/Mariah Carey: let's play (down) the feud!
Ever live next door to a couple that has a loud shouting match at night - and hear them tell you the next morning they just had a very passionate argument? That raised-eyebrow look is the same kind you might get after hearing about a news release from producers of "American Idol."
Last week, there was videotape of a major dustup between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey - with Minaj cursing at Carey and Carey describing her fellow judge as acting like a three-year-old - with Keith Urban and Randy Jackson trying to make peace between them.
The Idol producers are out with a statement, calling the group "one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels" the show has ever had.
The statement also indicates whatever differences there are between Nicki and Mariah, they're stuck with each other for now. The statement says the producers "love and support all of the judges" and that they are all doing "fantastic work."
The Idol people also blame the media for its part in reporting the argument - saying contrary to talk of dissent among the judges, production on the show is "going extremely well."
