Police say 31-year-old Jason Bridgeman of Shirley died when his vehicle crashed and rolled over near Knightstown Thursday.

HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — A Shirley man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Henry County late Thursday.

Henry County deputies and Indiana State Police troopers were called to the scene of the crash on Grant City Road, just north of SR 109 near Knightstown, around 10:30 p.m. Officers arrived to find a 2007 Chevrolet Impala rolled onto its top and partially in a ditch alongside the road.

Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the car, identified as 31-year-old Jason Bridgeman, lost control of the vehicle while driving north on Grant City Road. There was a slight rise in the roadway that may have contributed to the driver losing control, police said.

Bridgeman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Speed is believed to have played a role in the crash.
