The Navy's top admiral is planning a trip to Indiana that will include a visit to the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center.

The office of Sen. Dan Coats says Adm. Jonathan Greenert will visit the southern Indiana facility on Monday. Greenert is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff since he's chief of naval operations.

Coats says he's glad Greenert will see how Crane's operations help the country's military.

The Washington Times-Herald reports Sen.-elect Joe Donnelly, Rep. Todd Young and Lt. Gov.-elect Sue Ellspermann are also expected to take part in touring the base southwest of Bloomington that covers about 100 square miles.

Crane has some 5,000 employees whose work ranges from defusing old bombs to developing jamming devices used to block the detonation of roadside bombs.
