Nate Hoff joins Indiana University football program

Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson announced Monday that defensive lineman/offensive lineman Nate Hoff has joined the IU football program. Hoff is eligible for the 2013 season and has four years of eligibility.

The 6-2-, 320-pounder attended Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, R.I., in 2012. Hoff graduated from Solon (Ohio) High School in 2011, where he was a four-year starter.


He played in the 2012 Ohio North-South Classic after he recorded 24 tackles for loss as a senior. At offensive guard, Hoff blocked at an 84 percent efficiency rate with 77 pancakes.


Hoff recorded 62 tackles with 21 TFLs and one fumble recovery his junior campaign. IU offensive graduate assistant Ryan Stanchek coached Hoff in 2010.


He also lettered in track and wrestling, where he finished fifth as a heavyweight at the 2011 Ohio High School Athletic Association Wrestling Championships.

Hoff excels in the weight room with a bench press of 475 pounds and a 600-plus pound squat.
