Muncie parents rally to keep school
Dozens of parents and students in Muncie gathered Saturday in a desperate fight to save their school.
Supporters of Southside High School held a rally at Cooley Park this afternoon.
Later this month, school officials will decide whether to close the high school due to a lack of funding.
"We don't want to consolidate or combine everybody together. We want the rivalry and we want that "humph" in Muncie," said a student at the rally.
If the school does close the building would be converted to a middle school and Muncie Southside and Muncie Central High Schools would merge.
