Mr. Basketball from Hamilton Southeastern 2nd straight year
Zak Irvin of Hamilton Southeastern is The Indianapolis Star's Mr. Basketball for 2013.
The 6-foot-7 forward is the second Mr. Basketball from the suburban Indianapolis school in the past two years.
The Star announced Wednesday that it awarded this year's title to Irvin, a Michigan recruit. Last year's winner was Gary Harris, with whom Irvin played for two years.
Irvin averaged nearly 19 points per game and accumulated 402 rebounds, 164 assists and 105 steal. During his three years on varsity, his teams were 59-11.
Irvin received 101 votes from Indiana coaches and media. Mishawaka Marian's Demetrius Jackson was second with 46 votes, followed by Tipton's Mike Crawford (37), Fort Wayne Northrop's Bryson Scott (26) and Cathedral's Collin Hartman (14).
