Motorcyclist killed in Indianapolis crash involving school bus

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a school bus on the Indianapolis north side Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:25 p.m. at W. 38th St. and Boulevard Place.

No students were on board. According to Indianapolis Public Schools, the motorcyclist struck the rear end of the bus, which is operated by Durham, a private contractor for IPS.

Police say the bus was turning south onto Boulevard Place from westbound W. 38th Street when it collided with the motorcycle. Investigators believe the motorcyclist was traveling east on W. 38th Street at the time of the crash.

The bus driver, 49-year-old Tina Glasco of Indianapolis, was not injured in the crash. Police say she is cooperating with the investigation. There were no children on the bus at the time of the crash.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

The name of the motorcyclist has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.
