An Indianapolis man has died after a Saturday accident pushed a car into the path of his motorcycle. His wife remains hospitalized.

Fishers Police say the accident happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday. Officer Tom Weger said a Saab driven by Scott M. Elskus, 31, of Indianapolis, was traveling westbound on 96th Street and rear-ended an Izuzu SUV, pushing it into the path of the motorcycle traveling in the eastbound lane.

Nelson N. Spiegel, 63, of Indianapolis, was riding the three-wheel motorcycle and died of his injuries. His wife, Paulette Spiegel, was riding with him and remains hospitalized at IU Health-Methodist Hospital. They were both ejected.

The driver of the SUV, Wayne P. Bocchinfuso, 47 of Indianapolis, was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The fatal alcohol crash team was called to the scene to investigate, however Weger told Eyewitness News that he was not aware of anything that was found during the initial investigation that would indicate that alcohol was a factor.
