Mother of missing Plainfield man files complaint against police
PLAINFIELD - The mother of missing Plainfield man Morgan Johnson says she wants the same treatment given to her son's case as she's seen with the case of missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.
Ann Smith filed a civil rights complaint against the Plainfield Police Department. She wants them taken off the case immediately and wants the state police to take over the investigation.
"Based on other current and recent investigations on other missing persons in Indiana, there is a disparity in the action taken for them and not the same actions taken for Morgan," said Smith.
Smith pointed out there have been televised pleas from police plus helicopter and canine searches for Lauren Spierer but very little done to further the investigation into her son's case.
Morgan Johnson has been missing since May 18th.
Smith posted a video to YouTube asking for help finding her son.
