Showers and thunderstorms are likely across Central Indiana this morning, but our greatest chance for severe storms will come late this afternoon and evening.
Highs will reach the low to mid 70s across Central Indiana with wind gusts out of the east up to 30 mph.

After 3:00 p.m. some storms could be strong to severe into tonight.  Frequent lightning, large hail and damaging winds will be the biggest threats.  We cannot rule out an isolated tornado.  Clouds could limit severe weather.  The longer the showers and storms hang around this morning, along with cloud cover, the more our severe weather risk will diminish.  If we get a lot of sunshine this afternoon, the severe weather risk will remain with us.

Make sure you have a way to get the latest weather watches and warnings.  You can download the SkyTrak Weather App for your smart phone, it’s absolutely free.  One of the best ways to be alerted to severe weather is to have a weather radio, especially when you are sleeping.  WTHR is proud to partner with Midland weather radios to offer them at a discounted rate at participating Kroger and Walgreen's.  Weather radios can be programmed specifically for the watches and warnings you want to hear.

We will keep a close watch on the forecast and continue to update you as the forecast develops today.

Tuesday we will also be watching a risk for a few isolated severe storms.

Each and every day this week, there is a chance for wet weather as temps roller coaster with high temperatures in the 70s to the 50s.
