What's the Deal: Cotton prices skyrocket, Christmas sales begin and Wendy's Frosty cereal coming soon

Wendy's is joining forces with Kellogg's to make "Wendy's Frosty Chocolatey Cereal."

INDIANAPOLIS — 13News consumer reporter Allison Gormly tells us What's the Deal in today's consumer news:

Cotton prices soar

If you like wearing cotton clothing like t-shirts and jeans, they could get more expensive down the road.

Cotton prices hit nearly a 10-year high in the past week. According to CNN, costs are up 22% in the past two weeks alone.

Analysts say this is happening for several reasons, including droughts and heatwaves.

Holiday sales starting

While the holidays are months away, the sales are starting soon, including some that kicked off on Tuesday.

Amazon is running a sale right now, discounting its own devices, plus other items, including Apple AirPods.

Target is right behind, with its "Deal Days," which runs Sunday, Oct. 10 through Tuesday, Oct. 12. This is the first year that Target's sale is in person.
