INDIANAPOLIS — Airbags that can kill you are still on the road.
So What's the Deal with the recall, and how can you find out if your vehicle is affected?
Years ago, tens of millions of Takata airbags were recalled.
The airbags, if exposed to too much heat and humidity, could explode, shooting shrapnel at people in the car. To date, they've killed 37 people and injured hundreds of others.
But despite repeated warnings, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says there are still millions on the road.
More than 30 carmakers are affected, including Honda, Chrysler, Toyota and Ford.
To find out if your vehicle is affected, track down your vehicle's VIN, which is often on the inside of the driver's side door, and punch it into NHTSA's recall search tool.
