Airport Authority confirms Shake Shack coming to Indianapolis International

Shake Shack is officially coming to the Indianapolis International Airport.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Shake Shack is officially coming to the Indianapolis International Airport.

The Indianapolis Airport Authority board approved the contract during a vote Friday morning.

"Today is yet another culmination of our discussions over the past three years with diverse business vendors, which has resulted in a good mix of locally owned and local products to provide a customer experience that reflects the taste and culture of Indianapolis,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.

Other local and national dining options will also come to the airport, including:

  • Bento Sushi
  • Bub's Burgers
  • HotBox Pizza
  • Sun King Brewery
  • Harry and Izzy's
  • Tinker coffee
  • Stacked Pickle

Concourse A will house Bub's Burgers, Bento Sushi, Stacked Pickle, Harry and Izzy's and a new spot called Social Cantina. Concourse B will be the location for Shake Shack, and Sun King Brewery. Indiana-based Ben's Soft Pretzels will have a location accessible to both concourses.

Tinker Coffee and a new Starbucks will be placed in both Concourse A and B and Civic Plaza. Civic Plaza will also house HotBox Pizza.

Hoosiers had been widely speculating about Shake Shack's arrival after job postings for an Indianapolis location made it to social media.

Despite denials from the restaurant, the schedule for the Airport Authority's board meeting gave insight into the restaurant's next possible location.
