Michigan woman turns to Facebook in search for her father

Qulia Hyman posted a photo to Facebook, searching for her biological father.
A Michigan woman is hoping social media will help her find her biological father.

Qulia Hyman posted a photo to Facebook with information about the man she believes is her father, along with a photo. Hyman says she was born in the summer of 1981 and that her mother, Betty Jean Daviston, told her his name was Michael and he was a lieutenant stationed at Grissom AFB in Indiana. The man told Hyman's mother he wasn't ready for a baby as he started his military career, she said in the Facebook post.

"I’m not 100% sure if he knew about me or if he has an interest in any kind of relationship. I’m not even sure if he’s still alive," she wrote. "I am willing to move on if he would prefer not to begin a relationship, but I’m hoping for something more."

Hyman writes that she believes people's desires can change over time and wonders if her father has ever tried to find her.

If you think you have information about Qulia's father, she asks that you post to her Facebook page.
