Marion motel clerk shot during robbery

A north central Indiana motel clerk has been shot in the head during an apparent robbery.

WPTA-TV reports police responded to a robbery in progress shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday at the Ambrosia Inn in the 1600 block of Baldwin Avenue.  Police arrived and found the clerk suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Witnesses told police that a man was wrestling with the clerk before gunshots were heard.

The clerk, who has not been identified, was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital. The condition of the clerk has not been released.
