Marion County deputy arrested for child pornography possession
A Marion County sheriff's deputy is out of a job after being arrested for possession of child pornography.
Benjamin Farson, 29, worked as a deputy for Marion County for three years. He faces felony charges of distributing and possessing child pornography. Investigators say the conduct occurred off-duty on his home computer.
Greenwood Police began an investigation two weeks ago that led them to Farson, a Johnson County resident, as a suspected distributor of child pornography. Investigators found the material on Farson's home computer.
Greenwood Police contacted the Marion County Sheriff's Department when they learned that Farson worked there. The sheriff's department assisted Greenwood with the investigation.
Farson is being held at the Johnson County Jail in Franklin. The Johnson County prosecutor will handle the case.
