Marion Co. Sheriff's son gets 5 years for dealing cocaine
INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Marion county Sheriff John Layton's son was sentenced to five years on home detention Tuesday after pleading guilty to dealing cocaine.
Nikolas Layton, a former IMPD officer, was arrested earlier this year and pleaded guilty in August.
Court records show that detectives secretly recorded Nikolas Layton and two co-defendants selling drugs to informants, and then snorting cocaine together n the city's south side.
Two years of the 35-year-old Layton's sentence are suspended. He was also sentenced to two years probation.
