Many dry hours, storms likely Monday

 Some pockets of heavy rain fell this morning in Benton county.  Here is a radar estimate of rain totals in Benton county.

A few showers and thunderstorms will continue this morning with rain chances slowly diminishing this afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy today with winds out of the southwest. Temperatures will climb into the low 80s.

It will be mostly cloudy this evening with temperatures falling into the upper 60s.

Chances of showers and storms return Labor Day and become likely by early evening. It will be a warm and humid day with temperatures climbing into the mid 80s.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Monday evening as a cold front arrives. Heavy rain, damaging winds, and large hail will be possible.

Storms will continue into Tuesday morning with a few lingering showers and storms Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday should be a dry day with highs in the low 80s.

With heat and humidity cranking up again on Thursday and Friday, daily afternoon storm chances return.
