If you have high blood pressure, you may have more success managing your medication on your own at home, according to a new study from the United Kingdom.

Older patients did their own blood pressure readings at home and adjusted medicine as needed.

A year later, they had healthier blood pressure levels than those who had standard doctor's care.

Experts say this study could lead to new ways of treating high blood pressure.
