Man found shot in car at Indianapolis convenience store

Police are investigating the shooting of a man found in a car at a convenience store.

The man was found around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday outside the Village Pantry at 2360 E. Raymond Street. Police say the victim was shot multiple times in the midsection.

Officers were initially dispatched to the 1500 block of S. Rural Street on the report of a person shot, but the victim was leaving the scene in a vehicle and that a suspect vehicle was also leaving the scene.

The victim, identified as 33-year-old Fredrick McKinney Jr. of Indianapolis, was taken to Wishard Hospital in serious condition.

Officers located the suspect vehicle near Minnesota and Renton streets, but it was unoccupied.
