A crash on the south side of Indianapolis injured two people, one critically, Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe a Toyota Prius was traveling south on Madison Avenue around 5 p.m. and, for an unknown reason, veered into the turn lane for East Pleasant Run Parkway North, where it rear-ended a Dodge pick-up truck. The Prius then collided with a black Honda Civic.

The 77-year-old driver of the Prius was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge truck, 48-year-old Richard Rodgers of Indianapolis, suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was taken to Franciscan St. Francis Health South Hospital in good condition.

The driver of the Civic was not injured and was released at the scene.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
