A downtown Indianapolis valet may face theft charges after he was arrested for driving drunk in an Indianapolis Colts player's car.

Gunner Belcher, 21, was stopped by police in the 300 block of South Meridian Street around 2 a.m. Saturday, driving a white Bentley that was later discovered as belonging to Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne. Belcher failed several field sobriety tests, then tested at a blood-alcohol content of .13 percent on a breath test.

Belcher was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, not wearing a seat belt and failure to carry registration.

Sunday evening, Wayne tried to claim his vehicle at the Westin Hotel downtown, but the valet on duty could not find the keys.

A security officer said he saw a man take the car from the garage around 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The valet supervisor identified the man as Belcher, whose shift had ended at 9 p.m., but he never clocked out.

Wayne was later able to retrieve the vehicle from Last Chance Wrecker, who towed the car after Belcher's arrest.
