Life sentence without parole requested for accused gunman in store clerk killing

The man accused of shooting and killing a convenience store clerk could face life without parole.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced Thursday that the Marion County Prosecutor's Office has filed the request for Desi Thomas, Jr.

Thomas is charged with two counts of murder and robbery in the death of Harry Briggs. Surveillance video shows a man with a gun robbing the Joe's Junction convenience store on June 4th and shooting 45-year-old Briggs.

An outside camera captured the gunman skipping through the parking lot.

The next court appearance for Thomas will be on Oct. 7.
