Leonard pleads not guilty to witness murder plot; trial date set
One of the suspects in the south side explosion will go on trial in two months on new charges that he tried to hire a hit man to kill a witness in the case.
Mark Leonard was taken from jail to a courtroom Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to the new charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
Authorities say Leonard tried to hire a hit man to kill a key witness in the case. The "hit man" was actually an undercover federal agent.
A trail date was set for June 3rd for that conspiracy to commit murder charge.
Leonard will be back in court sooner - a week from today - for a hearing on the two murder charges connected to the Richmond Hill explosion.
